Video information policy: how Sky Eye Clinic uses CCTV

This video information policy explains how Sky Eye Clinic uses its CCTV cameras. It covers why they are installed, where they record, who manages the footage, how it is protected and how you can ask to see video of yourself. The policy took effect on September 1, 2015.

Why cameras are installed

Sky Eye Clinic installs and operates video information processing devices under Article 20, Paragraph 1 of the Personal Information Protection Act. The stated purposes are:

  • Patient safety and crime prevention inside the hospital
  • Safety management of the parking lot facilities

The manager responsible for installation must gather opinions from relevant experts and stakeholders. This can be done through an administrative notice or opinion gathering under the Administrative Procedures Act, or through briefings, surveys or polls of local residents affected by the installation.

Who manages the footage

The clinic has named two personal video information protection supervisors to protect your footage and handle complaints. Both are reached through the Management Support Office. Send a message through the channels on the free consultation page.

  • Management supervisor: Choi Young-jun
  • Management supervisor: Lee Hyun-oh

How to see or delete your footage

You may ask the operator at any time to let you view your personal video information, confirm that it exists, or delete it. This covers footage in which you appear, and footage clearly needed to protect someone's life, body or property in an emergency.

To view footage, contact the video information manager in advance and visit the clinic. Viewing takes place where the recording device stores its data. The clinic says it will act without delay on any such request.

How footage is protected

Footage is encrypted and managed securely. Access rights are granted by level. The clinic records the creation date and time, the reason for viewing, who viewed it and when, to guard against forgery and alteration. Storage devices have locks.

The policy was announced on August 31, 2015 and took effect on September 1, 2015. For other notices, see patient notices. To visit the clinic, see the clinic tour or about the clinic.
